I have a new obsession. My home management binder! I have made fun of my mom my whole life for having filing cabinets full of folders labeled with everything from the dogs names, to cleaning schedules. I can now say that the apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree, and I think I’m becoming an organiz-aholic. It’s a thing. So I started seeing all of these really awesome home management printables and binders on pinterest and blogs and thought it would be a great way to kick-start our new budget planning! The printables that I have made so far include: Daily expense tracker, Bills & payments, Monthly savings tracker, Monthly budget, Monthly glance, Spending plan, Recipe lists, Weekly menu plan, Grocery shopping lists,  Weekly cleaning, Wish lists, Log-in passwords, Goals tracker, Week at a glance, Medical information, Special dates, DIY + art projects, Master to do list, Christmas gifts, Christmas recipes, Family traditions… and more to come!

Now available here in my etsy shop! I will be updating it and including free printables in the future.

I realize a lot of you think it’s too early to be planning for Christmas. But let me just tell you folks, you can never be too prepared! My sister-in-law has an Annual Christmas Crafts Extravaganza-palooza at her house every year, and this year it’s the first weekend in November, which is quickly approaching. I can’t think of a better way to kick off the holiday season than with hot chocolate, home-made soup, Christmas music, a group of super fun girls, and lots and lots of hot glue and glitter! ‘Tis the season people. Here are a few of the projects I hope to tackle this year.

I’m having a felt moment. It’s an unhealthy obsession really. It all began with an innocent trip to Hobby Lobby when my friend Lindsay introduced me to the magic, wonder, and awe that is… felt balls.

So I began to think, oh the glorious things I can do with felt…

Will my Christmas tree be completely made of felt? Possibly.

So here is what I’ve been working on the past couple of days! My sister’s lingerie shower invites! I really love them. They are colorful and crazy just like Lindsay. I printed my design first on embossed polka dot cardstock, then I decorated them with various little pieces from the scrapbooking section at Hobby Lobby! This was a really fun way to do personalized invitations, however I don’t suggest this method for perfectionists, because you will sit and arrange one card for hours before you realize you still have 40 more to make! It was fun, I hope you love them like i do!

I realize it might be a tad early… considering it’s only August. But I personally believe it is never to early for a little Christmas cheer. I have been thinking a lot lately about how exciting it is that Matt and I will be enjoying our first Christmas together as a married couple. This leads me to day dream land about all the DIY projects I want to do to decorate our newlywed home! Here are some ideas:

Of course I will need to whip up some stockings to go on our “mantal” (also known as a $30 target bookshelf).

These lovelies pictured above are from the talented Rikrak.

I also think these are fun: (via)

Next up… A wreath! Although I’m not sure how I’m going to hang it on our door, I’ll figure that out when the time comes because how CUTE are these?

And who doesn’t love a good owl ornament? (via)

And I think I might try to do some DIY letters that mimmick the look of these Anthro fabric letters… or maybe I will just buy them since they are on sale? What will I spell you ask? Good question… Something Christmasy?

Comment and link me to some of your favorite Christmas ideas! Because I’m sure there is someone out there that is as excited about the season as I am.

Thank you Aubrey & Lindsay for this incredible contribution to the do-it-yourself world. I am currently d-r-o-o-l-i-n-g over this beautiful DIY desk. I am just loving it’s simplicity and character with a modern twist. A size similar to this would be perfect for Matt and I both to share, and it suuuure would look great in the guest room/office. The jury is still out on weather Matt is going to go for it or not but it doesn’t seem too hard to do, right? Or am I just fooling myself…?

They used Ikea Besta Cabinets at $65 a piece for their desk, and although that is quite a bargain for such a large desk, I still would like to save more If I do this project. Here are some options I have found so far for my base:
